Yea! We get to vote!
From.. https://www.scotusblog.com/2026/09/supre...ail-in-vo/
Supreme Court denies Trump administration’s request to implement parts of rule on mail-in voting
Which, in essence, means Hawaii, us, you and I, will get our ballots.. in the mail!
* I kept looking at CB for an article that would cover the subject.. what would happen if..? But OMG even the *
Pretty cool (right brother 'Tang?) the good ol' USPS can do its thing, curbside or otherwise. BTW, about that curbside stuff... All my years on the island, since the '70s, and I have never had it, so I ain't sure what all the hoopla is about. Of course the post offices I frequent Volcano and Honokaa, run efficiently.. so maybe it's just a matter of perspective. And, maybe, being appreciate. For real, it's almost like magic.. thank all the gods!

MyManao - I kept looking at CB for an article that would cover the subject.. what would happen if..?
Star-Advertiser/Trib had some of this "what if" commentary a few days back, before the ruling:
https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/202...r-ballots/
"State Sen. Karl Rhoads worries what the Nov. 3 election would look like if voters lose the ability to receive, then return their ballots through the mail.
It could require Hawaii to spend millions of dollars to hire private companies to deliver ballots to every household where someone is registered to vote. But voters could not use the mail system to return their ballots, so individual voters would have to place them in drop-box locations or at in-person voter service centers.
...
Otherwise, if Hawaii tries to hastily ramp up an in-person election system to accommodate thousands of voters, that would require finding enough in-person locations and recruiting enough volunteers to staff them.
...
Hawaii is one of eight states, plus Washington, D.C., that allow all elections to be conducted entirely by mail, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. The others are California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont and Washington state.
...
“Nobody really has a plan,” Nago said.
...
So Nago and his office are considering the possibility of spending approximately $10 million for a private courier or multiple companies to deliver ballots to hundreds of thousands of addresses across the islands, including rural, remote communities. However, unlike the Postal Service, private companies will not deliver to P.O. boxes.
Even if that comes to pass, voters would not be able to mail their ballots back in order to be counted, as they do now." (more at link)
Thankfully with the Supreme Court ruling, we won't have to jump through more moving hoops to cast a vote. Hopefully people take advantage of this as at least one of the U.S. Supreme Court Justices (pick-me pick-me for Chief Justice pretty please, Brett Kavanaugh of course) indicated they would likely allow such arbitrary restrictions and requirements by the USPS if the process is started earlier, so we're likely to see another round in 2028 of this attempted federal executive branch interference in the Constitutional delegation of voting being handled by the states.

Hopefully Hawaii and other states can enact regulations that protect the Constitutional rights of individual states to oversee elections and everything related to elections. That would make challenges by the person not running in the 2028 election cycle unlikely. As there’s no personal incentive or benefit.

With the right regulations, we could have all future elections be validly determined by Scott Nago using his plastic Easter eggs and magic basket of destiny.

And that would be fine, if that's what the majority of the people of Hawaii want. Which obviously isn't the case, but if it was, fine. Whereas having a corrupted federal government tell us anything about how we run our elections will never be fine. Ever.
Elections are state business. Period.

MyMan! ...the people of Hawaii...obviously isn't the case...
Can you please clarify for us who you mean by "the people of Hawaii" for whom you proclaim yourself to speak? Do your "people" include WHITE boomer capatilist colonizers, like our rotund, WHITE, capitalist, transplant Governor Josh Green, who when he is not building his super PAC war chest, is dead set on bringing a huge, Japanese, JERA fossil fuel burning monolith to our shores, which of course he will derive no personal benefit (AKA corruption) from? Yes?
If not, and you just mean folks defined as Native Hawaiian people of Hawaii, who's souls are brutalized by WHITE colonizers who maintain the inconceivable (to Hawaiians) fantasy that they "own" a TMK (random evil capitalist abstraction) in The Waipio Valley, then wouldn't "the people" be likely to prefer an Ali'i chosen by their God? Maybe you believe they would want you to continue to speak for them and choose their leader?
Is so, perhaps you could procure our Officer of Elections - Scott Nago's plastic Easter eggs and tiny, lauhala, magic basket of destiny.
The Supreme Court says that he won't be needing his plastic eggs and basket for his official election spectacles anymore. He may want to keep them for a souvenir, or perhaps for some keiki to celebrate The Easter Bunny though. Try ask?
Let us know, please.

Oh brother 'Tang, so much energy expended, and little of it to bolster your fellow man, when in fact you know in this context the people are those that participate in the political process. We're talking politics.. people.. the consensus of the majority.
'Tis a shame you can't channel all that to some good. Help those in need.. but hey if fondling bunnies with vile thoughts is how you like to roll more power to ya brah..

It doesn't take much time at all MyMan! It is a legitimate question when, in the past, you have made comments such as:
"Face it brother 'tang, haole's brains are a bad, a horrible, example of human potential. Literally, our wiring is defective. Our neural paths are so limited there is no way we could ever be held up as the best example of the human mind. And the sooner we are relegated to some heap of past transgressions of evolution the better for our species' chances of survival... and hoped for growth into our rightful place amongst the cosmos."
"Hawaii doesn't manufacture the Depends you have to import either. Sheesh, what does Hawaii have? I mean besides a bunch of mouthy squatters, what?"
"Edge, there is no place on this planet, in this solar system, in the entire universe, where Americans can stand on a moralistic scale and be measured as anymore than the worst race, the worst example of our species, to ever walk upright. If there is any example of evil white men.. Americans.. have the market cornered."
https://punaweb.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=23946&pid=363483#pid363483
So given that you can read the comments made by yourselves, it is totally legitimate to assume the best and question if you feel that white, American people should be electing more rotund, mouthy, squatting, evil, white American people to reign in a mouthy, white, American, evil regime over Native Hawaiians. As hard as that is to reconcile, now we know that you do. Thanks for clarifying.

There were many forms of elections in Hawaii, under the monarchy, after the monarchy, territorial, statehood. Do you have a preference? Compare and contrast?

I'm really warming up to the sheer honesty of Scott Nago's clown show Easter egg spectacle. It is what it is, right?
