Another Murder in HPP (Hawaiian Paradise Park)
#1
Stay safe.  Head on a swivel.  Hope we can get some FLOCK cameras installed and more police patrols in HPP soon.

Why not install them yourself? Folks do it, you could too. Sheesh, you could start a movement.. get other like minded neighbors to do it too.

And then you could chronicle your adventure here.. the day you ordered.. the day they were delivered.. here's a great pick da misses took of you installing da buggah... and the URL we could all watch it stream! Flock.. your friendly neighborhood watch dream come true..

Though I doubt Flock would have kept the poor buggah from getting shot.

The guy with the gun called police on himself.  He turned himself into the police when they arrived, and said he did it. Please explain what a Flock camera would have done?

Please explain what a Flock camera would have done?

Prove, beyond any shadow of any doubt, his complete and total innocence that he was defending himself against a brutal attack and feared for his life.

And if this was truly self-defense against an attack where the shooter was indeed in fear for his life, because we "lucky to live Hawaii," he will still have a long long legal battle on his hands, whereas in other states, he would be the town hero.

I know that goes against the narrative of some who promote the Flock cams solely just to see people get locked up, but in this case, a Flock cam could potentially let the shooter go free.

Ironic hey?

Yes!
Like bodycam video, cell phone video, instant reply on tv sports, no one argues about what they’re seeing on the screen. But wait, I also need the 5 guys in a box to explain what I see with my own eyes, from a particular camera angle.

As many have said previously here, murders and felonies, properly cited for access to footage, are some of the uses that make sense. If it was self-defense I hope the guy goes free. Lots of nut jobs wandering free that should be in nut houses if not for some misguided judges and politicians.

Flock cameras recognize and record license plates, specifically rear plates.
I don't understand how it would exonerate anyone in a situation not involving a car driving down the road.

While true in this case, it would also then be fair to say it would not have proven any guilt of either of the two parties involved.

Obie, some hackers (and arguably felons) opened one up recently and dumped the code. They actually are tracking people as well as vehicles (at least in some jurisdictions).

What they found was the camera software had the possibility of facial recognition it wasn't turned on. The only way for it to be activated would be for Flock to do it .

The cameras are oriented to take images of the rear of a car.
