Leilaniguy elsewhere mentioned making donations to Mainstreet Pahoa Association. I thought that MSPA was worth a topic line. Punaweb is not the only thing MSPA does. Most recently, for example, we produced the Pahoa Christmas Parade. Other activities are long term and ongoing.
Mainstreet Pahoa Association will accept donations. As a simple matter of fact the best way to support these community efforts is to become a member of Mainstreet and participate to the degree you can. Membership costs $10 per year. A member can vote for the Board of Directors. We have a number of understaffed committees.
As the Puna area grows we could very much use the energy and enthusiasm of our newcomers and established residents. We want to exert some small measure of control over the future growth here. It is more effective to do this as a group than to try as individuals.
So I would invite anyone interested to sign up with MSPA and add to our voice and effectiveness.
If anyone has questions or comments about MSPA this is a good place and way to discuss them.
