automatic gate opener

has anyone had an installed electric or solar gate opener done recently? someone that you would recommend? prefer a business and not a private individual. but someone you would trust. thanks!

Call the GateKeeper. Did great work on my solar operated gate.

which begs the question...

For the DIY people, what's the best bang for the buck for a simple solar controller push open and closer for one of those lite duty type gates you can get at Home Depot? Not talking about the type that run on a track.

Thanks and sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. I find it interesting tho to hear others experiences.

GTO Mighty Mule -- some say they're "junk", but mine lasted six years, and replacements are cheap on Amazon, so the automatic gate is "costing" about $50/year... a bargain compared to the "professional strength" option.

We were planning to get a gate opener, but our neighbor had one problem after another with hers. It locked her out for several days, she had to park on the street and climb over to get in.
Then she got a different kind and had more problems.

We decided that opening and closing manually wasn't that big a deal.
