3/4” Iron Pipe Threaded
#1
Does anyone know who sells, or who can thread 3/4” iron pipe for use with orange enamel clamps?  I need a couple of 7 footers to glue and clamp a table.

Have you tried Home Depot?

I know 5 or 6 years ago they would cut and thread pipe for you. As long as you bought the pipe from them.

If you must have exactly 7 feet you could buy a 3 footer and a 4 footer and a coupler. Those sizes are generally stocked. And the coupler being near the middle should not cause any issues for clamps.

But it’s expensive. Between 25 up to 50 bucks per pipe depending on length.

If you only need it short term, Home Depot might just rent the types of pipe clamps you need.

ETA: If you’re using the orange type clamps I am familiar with, you only need one end to be threaded.

Assuming that’s true as well as having a coupler near the middle not being an issue and let’s say you needed 4 total pipes at 7 foot. It may be cheaper to buy two 10 foot pre threaded pipes, cut them to 7 feet and then buy two 4 foot pieces pre threaded and join them with the cut off 3 footers with a coupler.

Also assuming you have a sawzall to cut the pipes, that might be an easy workaround. Granted you could cut the pipes with a hacksaw but that’s not really much fun.

Thanks! For some reason I hadn’t considered that they would have them.  They do, some lengths are even already threaded.

If in stock, they have 2, 4, 6 and 10 footers pre threaded. I
have never seen them have 8 footers in stock.
