If the costs went over by hundreds of millions, that would have been a lot of extra money going into our community. Is the author some kind of socialist or something, he doesn't want Hawaiians to make money?

Outside of the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago putting up just under 200 Million of taxpayer funded infrastructure projects to allow for the increased traffic and adjacent park, the rest of the construction costs were born by donors to the Obama Foundation.

Further while it would have been nice for Obama to put his library here in Hawaii, the sheer fact that it was built in Chicago allows for a much larger and wider number of patrons of all walks of life to visit and see one of the two greatest POTUS' of my lifetime achievements.

And not one "NO BID" taxpayer funded contract issued either. But in hindsight, I'm sure it would have been fine if Obama had just slapped his name on the Richard J. Daley Center and called it quits!
