Governor Green Emergency Proclamation for Kauhale Housing in HPP
#1
Governor Green, by use of emergency proclamation powers, has cleared the way, cut the red tape, overcome the maze of rules, bypassed the normal processes designed to ensure proper use of public funds, and generally kicked some bureaucratic okole, in order to build housing for our homeless brothers and sisters.

https://homelessness.hawaii.gov/kauhale/  << tear producing video by Josh, and other Kauhale information here.

Ikaika Marzo, just the other day, spotlighted the increase of new homeless faces in Puna, and our need to help any way we can.

We should all urge Governor Green to focus on Puna, for the next Emergency Proclamation Kauhale.  What better place than HPP (Hawaiian Paradise Park), with it's abundance of large lots and Aloha for people of all walks of life?  This is an opportunity for residents of HPP to show where we really stand when it comes to sharing what we have with those who are less fortunate.

Wouldnt it be amazing if we could use Rob Tucker's container homes to make it even faster and more cost effective?  Rob can you make that happen if Josh selects HPP?

Please, act now and use this super easy, simple contact page to urge Governor Green to build the next Emergency Homeless Kauhale in HPP.

Together we can make a difference.

Yes we can Tangy Tang Tang.

But being honest, brutally honest here, I doubt you have any real sincerity here, or as they say, "skin in the game."

From your relentless and endless denigrating Josh Green comments, to the occasional cut and paste of a news story about various free benefit programs here and there, to now asking Rob to "belly up to the bar," I don't see you making any contribution YOURSELF? Outside of being the orange guys shill?

Ever volunteer at a food bank? Maybe feed a group of homeless people at the Natch? I just see a lot of "holier than thou" preaching, with little if any real action on your part.

Just being honest here Tang!

Given the point of a Kauhale is to house people where they are at and provide wrap around services, it would seem like placing these in Pahoa would make more sense to serve those in the area (as Beaches seems already too full of trolls and HPP is too far away and spread-out with their larger than average lots).

Maybe something like this project at Sacred Heart or this older one?

Would be interesting to see if Rob's containers can come in more affordable than HPM's microhousing projects - maybe comes down to which are subject to more or less tariffs (50% on steel, 10-25% on timber, etc...), labor costs to setup, and if county codes can be met / waved as the latest(?) proclamation seems to state:
"Certified Projects are still required to seek applicable county approval in the appropriate county where the project is located. The counties may adopt an expedited approval process to support the provision of housing for homeless individuals and families while still ensuring that improvements constructed pursuant to the Proclamation meet life safety standards as defined by the counties."

Excellent point Ironyak.  After messaging Governor Green, we should all contact members of the County Council and urge our representatives to "adopt an expedited approval process to support the provision of housing for homeless individuals and families", in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

Please take a moment to do that here:

Keep those suggestions coming.

Together, we can make a difference.
