The Big Island Singers, a 36–member chorus, will present a series of “Fire and Ice” concerts, November 21–23. Under the direction of Douglas Albertson, the hour-long program presents a variety of vocal musical styles. Audiences will hear pieces describing qualities the title reflects, like: freezing cold, scorching heat, icy hearts, hot passions, fresh snow, scorched earth. Very appropriate for the Big Island! The centerpiece of the concert includes two astounding song cycles by the great contemporary composer, Morten Lauridsen. Big Island Singers will feature excerpts from these two major works, including “Winter Songs”, which uses poetry by Robert Frost.
Friday, November 21, 7 pm - Church of the Holy Cross, 440 W. Lanikāula, in Hilo
Saturday, November 22, 4 pm - First United Protestant Church, 1350 Waiānuenue Ave, in Hilo

There will be guides helping folks park out on the street. No charge for entry. Potluck so please bring a tasty dish to share.

Coming to the Palace Theater Feb. 8th. 7pm. I went to see them last year just because their nameʻs so weird and I was blown away. Excellent multi-instrumentalists doing some standards and some originals. Originally from West VA and have been on Maui for ten years. One of the best concerts Iʻve seen on this island. more info at: https://hilopalace.com/hpt_event/
