i was simply pointing out to those that are desperate to make this my fault, that no, i was not a tax cheat. or any other kind of cheat. and once again, this is not about permits.

I never said you were a tax cheat, and I do not believe anyone else said so either. It is all about the permit and/or lack of completion. You don't seem to understand it. You are (technically) living in a house that by nature of not having the final inspection approved, it isn't legal to live in. You cannot get a permit and then never bother to finish it, without realizing the possibility of the consequences! Get it done and quit complaining or trying to blame other people and external events.

From your original post, you admit to shouting at them, telling them to "bugger off", refusing entry to the electrical inspector, claiming you don't have electricity (duh, solar is electric!), etc.

birch , you seem to think you are so important, like some kind of celebrity. and your status is the cause of the mess you seem to find yourself embroiled in. it would be far wiser of you to start fixing your personal problems (permits) then to continue trying to argue with people and convince everyone that you are exempt from the permit process.
stop blaming people for your lack of following the county rules and regs. and the CPS investigation what is that about ? trolls? who is trolling , you keep posting your life story and you are going to keep getting responses , and you might not like the response.
i have to say as to facebook you yourself have made some pretty nasty, awful remarks about people on facebook , one is a former councilmen, you totally trashed the individual on facebook with little to no regard for the persons reputation.
i highly recommend you direct your energy to repairing what ever is needed to correct and make right your permit problem .

kopoho joe, why is the fact that i am freely volunteering my time and energy to my community 'make me a 'flaky furriner artist type who should stick to an easel and leave politics for others'?? i would gladly 'leave politics to 'others', but the vast majority of 'others' appear to lack either the vision to see that things can be better, or the community responsibility to help anyone other than themselves, or the balls to fight to make things better, or perhaps the education to facilitate improvement. take your pick

i didn't realize that is was an acceptable part of community association volunteering? as far as the people who are trying to destroy our community go, that may or may not include our ex council member. certainly to most people's utter astonishment, he appears to endorse at least one of them.
So i have now delivered two written requests for a copy of the complaint, along with a copy of all complaints made against our current board or the community center. i also have an appointment with Mr Lee next Thursday. so i will let you know what happens and what i find out.

What difference does it make who reported it. What will you do ? Beat them up ? Burn down their house, file complaints against them ? I'd guess your just having tons of fun playing the victim. You have got to know that finding out if someone turned you in won't change a thing. Its not illegal to report unpermitted structures, although living in one is. Listen, If you were my neighbor, I, would have turn your crazy self in ! GTFU !

jrw. - yes and that is the point here.The point is not how close we are or are not to final. the point is that this sort of harassment has the ability of causing unbelievable harm to ordinary people. if i was living in a tin shack with a compost loo and three kids? i would be terrified. that cannot possibly be acceptable. i have no idea what our rights are.
so this is what i know. i was not reported because my house appeared to anybody to be unsanitary or unsafe. i was not reported because i have upset one of my neighbors. the few that i have look out for and respect each other. i was not reported by the 'tax assessor', or the humane society or any other authority. so that leaves what? that warranted the attention of three inspectors? i do not know what the procedure is for dealing with complaints, so lets pretend that this is just the average response. its still not acceptable.
1) why not simply make an appointment?
2) DO I actually have a right to know who the complainer is??
3) how do i obtain that information in a timely fashion?
4) how do i protect my family from further harassment?
The system needs reviewing. i cannot change the world. i know that. i cannot change those whose lives are motivated by spite. i know that. but i can change the fact that the building department can respond to anything but the most serious issues in this way. i can change that. (i think - maybe - possibly - )
