RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Eric1600 - 09-13-2017

A lot of filings going on prior to next weeks hearing of oral arguements (Wed. 20th) that will be shown on naleo.tv

[bunch of people/groups] Exceptions to UHH/TIO/TMT/PUEO's Exceptions to HO FOF, COL and DO filed on September 11, 2017

There was a foot note about how they keep trying to throw out the other native Hawaiians: Furthermore, the P.U.E.O. could not demonstrate that they
had an injury in fact and their standing to participate has also been challenged by the Pro Se Parties.
I find it funny that in court and in their paperwork they won't use the word pueo, but rather spell it out orally p-u-e-o or in writing p.u.e.o. Yet they freely use TMT, TIO, UH, etc. I guess they aren't Hawaiian enough to be afforded the use the Hawaiian word pueo.

The TMT has just completed the second half of its $1 million donation to Hawaii's THINK fund for 2017, making it $3.5 million donated so far to Hawaii. And that's before it's being built.

"The THINK Fund—short for The Hawaii Island New Knowledge—is making a big difference in the lives of Hawai‘i Island students and teachers through scholarships, classroom projects, an endowment and grants, the TMT press release stated."

or Channel 53 on Spectrum.

I don't know what other people think of the hearing but it seems the strategy was to just go emotional. There were very few legal points made. Most were just "numerous violations" of a "wide variety of laws".

Vicente of course pointed out that no one living in Hawaii is a US citizen because they can't be naturalized.

Brandon carried on about unlined cesspools on mauna kea on the burial grounds, which there aren't. I couldn't even understand his points. "Area E is a type of ethnocide which is a type of genocide."

They also made veiled threats, "I would die for the mountain". "We will block you...Thousands!"

None of them proved they couldn't perform their new religious practices, in fact many talked about how over time they've done more and more ceremonies up there.

The only solid point that I think they made was that the rent was too low and that other telescopes should be re-assessed but that issues is unrelated to the TMT.

I think naleo.tv will put it up later for replaying if you missed it. At the very least you might enjoy the conch cell blowing after anti-tmt speeches.

Thanks for the summary, so I don't have to watch that shameless spectacle.

RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Eric1600 - 09-20-2017

I guess the biggest problem I had with it was how they kept threating BLNR. In fact Mehana Kihoi said flat out, "If you don't issue a stay of execution then its an attack on Hawaiians and you're putting yourselves in danger."

They all requested a "stay of execution" until the supreme court decided on the appeals that they all swear they are filing. The don't respect this court or judge's opinion, I don't know why they would accept the supreme court's decision either.

I don't know why they would accept the supreme court's decision either.

World Court (International Court of Justice)

no, that other God
(what year is it now?)

The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?

I didn't manage to catch any of the live broadcast today and couldn't find anything on Ne Leo's website about making the stream available, but it is early days. If anyone learns of such a video, please let us know.
