RE: Major earthquake off Pacific NW coast - Carey - 10-27-2012

(I thought Royall was still at Jims... so thought he was stating none in Kona...but maybe he is on the eastside...)

Anyhoo, if there is an evacuation... we are in Downtown Keaau, fenced yard & crash space (those who know, know that this is accurate - NOTHING FANCY)

RE: Major earthquake off Pacific NW coast - Nalu - 10-27-2012

I just read on Native FM's FB page that the sirens in Keaukaha and Puna are not working and they are telling people to evacuate in low lying areas.

KITV reports multiple siren failures in East Hawaii. Big Island Civil Defense first claimed that the sirens had sounded, but later admitted that there are "problems." They had Billy Kenoi on the phone for a minute, but it sounded like he hung up or got disconnected.

RE: Major earthquake off Pacific NW coast - Carey - 10-27-2012

sirens are on now...if you cannot hear them, be aware

Added: If you are not evacuating... Things to think about/do:
Do you have supplies? things like cash, gas, fuel, batteries, flashlights, candles & matches, canned foods - these are things you should always have in backup, just in case stuff

If you are not on catchment, do you have any water supplies if the water goes out, having a few 5 gal pails of water may allow you to flush for a few days (one of those nice things to have....)
