I am really hoping that one of the airlines will start flying direct from the West Coast to Hilo.. really miss those ATA and ALoha Flights!!

I think it's having a big effect on our economy as well over here.

Keep trying to get Mazie or someone national to intervene w the airlines on our behalf but so far no help..

I think you're right. The Bear and I just got back from Hapuna Beach, and it was the smallest crowd we have ever seen there. Most people were local, with just a smattering of tourists. The hotel next to Hapuna seemed almost deserted.
