Blake... LOL. We can't wait till you are "outta there" either! Maybe it has something to do with the Mormons... they are generally a group of people who do not express discontent. After all it is the land of "Big Love". And there are those beautiful Wasatch Mountians there too. Come to think of it there are also less homeless there and it seems to be "clean" everywhere I have been there too.

Anyway, polls can be spun in many directions as Mella said, "It depends when where and how it is taken and who is asking." Blake is advertising and I am sure he understands the spin as well as anyone. We deal with it a lot in the PR field too.

Aloha au i Hawai`i,

A resounding second to Blakes opinion. Sandy candy, "Prozac" is so common that its got its own nickname. If you are looped to the gills on happy pills, Its easy to forget you're a brood mare. One of the happiest days of my life was the day we left that Theocracy. The wife had to stop me from screaming a quote from MLK "Free at last, Thank God almighty free at last when we left.

Okay. I never thought I would do this, but in defense of Utah, I had a nice time on my two trips there and found the people to be pretty nice. I didn't realize they were blasted although that does explain the wide eyes and sometimes inappropriate enthusiasm over relatively mundane events. The snow on Temple Square was lovely, not to mention the choir -- they were very impressive and moving. It almost made me forget about the fact that I could get kicked out of what only appears to be a public square (which is owned by the church) for kissing a guy (not that I had the opportunity). The American Taliban are much nicer than the foreign ones and they don't behead you -- they just eject you from the square very quietly, so I call that an improvement. Utah is lovely, although you have to discharge yourself quite a bit. I was carrying a lot of static electricity while I was there and it wasn't because I kissed a guy in Temple Square. It's a little on the dry side. But lovely, and the people are lovely. We all know they are peculiar, but if peculiar means building one of the largest Church Pyramid Corporations in the world, then you just have to hand it to them. I mean, do the Baptists own their own hotels? Not really. A hospital or two, but not major hotels!

And is there a link to Hawaii, the number two spot? Hell, yes. The Polynesian Cultural Center? Utah owned. There is a HUGE Utah presence in Hawaii. If you've played Risk, you'll know it's a great strategy. Seize the small places first and build from there.

I would definetely go to Utah again. Unless, of course, Utah came to me and I didn't need to go.

Ah Menehune, the lull of the South Pacific breezes, drums on Bali Hai and the fragrance of pikake on the wind... "Some enchanted evening..."

Just makes me wanna break out in a Broadway Musical (for our Glen) and kiss a Frenchman (also for our Glen)...[:X]

Ya, Glen, thats why there is a sign on the highway at wendover as you enter Utah that reads " Welcome to Utah, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints." And They ain't kidding. But now we're here, in the second happiest state and I'm so happy to be here I can't stand it and will never set foot in the so called happiest state EVER again.

Yeah Dick, when "my people" were recently jumping up and down about how the LDS Church helped get some legislation passed to protect gays and lesbians, or when liquor laws were recently relaxed once the LDS church nodded approval, I was pointing out how this just proves that the LDS church is very firmly in control of the governments that govern us here.

Ya and they don't even pay lip service to separation of church and state. When the subject of either gay rights or liquor comes up, they come right out and say they are waiting for the church to comment. Thus I'm so happy to be in only the second happiest state. They can have their theocracy and I never ever have to deal with them and their BS again. [Big Grin]
