there used to be lots of aquaculture on the northeast side of o'ahu. also oceanic institute raises shrimp. not sure if OI does any wholesale though.

It's funny you ask that question, even the dozen shrimp truckers admit thare is just not enough "local" shrimp available. Some claim they get their shrimp from "within the state" but they don't say from where![Wink][Wink][Wink]

There is an aquaculture operation growing shrimp up near Honokaa that I know of.

We got "take-out" from Giovanni's this evening. Picked up a menu this afternoon, and then called in our order this evening and went in to pick it up. We also had the garlic shrimp. It was dee-lish!! Large portions of large shrimp. Loved it and hope this place sticks around.

We at Giovanni's Aloha Shrimp in Pahoa, would like to thank the community for all their support. We are happy to be in such an awesome town with great people. I hope we can stick around for a while. We love the atmosphere here.
