DSL is the only way to go in Seaview. Call Hawaiiantel to sign up - THEN call the local Htel store at the mall and they will watch availability for you. This strategy cut down my wait to 1 week.
Local htel office: 959-8868

Cat, I think any application for a tower would have to go through one of the planning commissions, which are assisted by the staff of the Planning Department.

That website that supposedly lists all towers, antennas and current applications for such things isn't very accurate (so I won't list the url). It doesn't even list the almost completed 150 foot tall T-Mobile tower in upper Nanawale at the Community Association. The County permits for that one were applied for in January.

I was told recently by hawaiiantel that dsl is NOT available in Kehena and probably would not be at any point in the distant future. Sandy, are you sure you have dsl?

Nope. The permit address is not for Nanawale, not even close.

There is a small "pocket" of DSL availability in Kehena and Puna Palisades. It can only be determined by providing your telephone number to see if it's within that pocket. I know it's not available in the back of Puna Palisades, but it is in the front of the subdivision. I'd say in Kehena then, it would be those homes on the east side toward Puna Palisades.

Yup Hot, I'm using the DSL right now. We also were told the day our phone was installed it was not available. The woman at the HI-Tel store suggested that we put our name on the waiting list "just in case". We were delighted when she called us on the mainland to let us know that service had become available to us. We are on the ocean side of Kehena.
