RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - kalakoa - 01-19-2016 bash one of their community members just for some sick sport Unlike offering employment which requires that one be available "at various points throughout the week" while paying for the privilege? If I wanted that deal, I would volunteer at Kalani, they have yoga workshops and a pool. RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - YurtGirl - 01-19-2016 Kalakoa, go volunteer at Kalani and I'm betting that they have policies that wouldn't fit a freebie, paradise only, no work load, perfect for the applicant but not for the person needing the work done mentality. Over and out. You aren't interested? Don't pay any attention then. Thank you for your ethically responsible suggestion. RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - Rob Tucker - 01-19-2016 Yurtgirl made her post legitimately as a member of Punaweb. Too many immediately found the need to provide critique of the posting. Not good. Those replies have been removed. If you are interested in the position and have questions fine. If it isn't suitable for you as presented then back the hell off. I don't need or want self appointed critics of any posting looking for a solution or offering one. Assume the best and ask questions. Punaweb moderator RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - PunaMauka2 - 01-19-2016 Mahalo @ moderator RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - Punatic007 - 01-19-2016 I honestly didn't consider our comments as destructive criticism nor even remotely insulting, more like this doesn't make a lot of sense to charge someone to work for you, period. This gave her a chance to re-think or re-write to get a good applicant. As the original post is stated it was not something I would have recommended to anyone. If I wrote an ad in such a manner I would have been grateful to be told it didn't make sense so I could re-write/re-think it. There have been some rude posts on this site but the one I wrote was clearly more helpful than could be considered rude and my intention was 100% genuinely helpful, blunt but sometimes that's the only way, how could you have sugar coated this one? Perhaps her ad could have been offered as a work/trade for rent reduction as opposed to a job offering. It was just confusing until she came back and clarified as a result of our helpful observations. Period. RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - YurtGirl - 01-19-2016 Thank you, Rob. Very much! Melissa Fletcher ___________________________ "Make yurts, not war" Bill Coperthwaite, 1973 RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - Rob Tucker - 01-19-2016 Punatic007 The ad wasn't seeking your recommendation. Not your business... someone else's business. Stay out of other people's business. Assume the best and ask questions. Punaweb moderator RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - terracore - 01-19-2016 Hello YurtGirl, As a person who has considered a yurt in the past, I've read your posts here, on city-data, and probably other places. Having been a business owner myself I know how tough running a business can be and I really do appreciate (and so do many others) all you've done to bring alternative housing options to the Big Island. Running any online forum (and I have administered many) is a difficult balancing act between allowing freedom of expression and enforcing rules that make it safe and friendly for everybody. I've never found a forum that does this perfectly and I don't believe that perfection exists in this regard. All that being said, I'd like to see you around here more often, and I'm sure others would too (and it might be good for your business). I take the mudslinging with a grain of salt and don't show up on the rare days I'm not feeling up to it- but most of the time I just watch it and try to guess what comes next. I've learned to laugh at myself, but in order to get there I had to learn to laugh at other people first. I don't take the opinion of some random anonymous online persona seriously or personally- unless of course I agree with it. I don't think it's a thick skin, it's just realizing that an online forum isn't the real world. I think you have great things to contribute, don't let the online shadows of other people determine how you use your keyboard unless you want it to. RE: Looking for Live-In Baseyard Manager - dmbwest - 01-19-2016 I stand by my post based on previous history of OP's posts. Nuff said. |
