Nice looking house! I hope ours goes as well when we finally get to Hawai'i in five years.

Hmm, wider porches and cross ventilation in the bedrooms is all I would have changed but it's too late for that now! Otherwise looks lovely.

Central vacuum is a beauty thing! Almost as much fun as the Roomba floor robots.

Since your house is up off the ground, you could install some louvered (and screened) vents in the closet floors of the bedrooms and some louvered closet doors. That would increase the ventilation in the closets, keep the mold and mildew down (although in Discovery Harbor it isn't quite as humid as most areas is it?) and create a bit more airflow through the bedrooms.

When will you be moving in? Looks like pretty soon, huh?

The last slide show was a bit misleading as it doesn't show all the cut outs for the windows and doors along the backside of the house. No one we've spoken with in Discovery Harbour has ever had a problem with mold so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

We'll be permanently moving over early Sept. when I'll finish the interior so with any luck we'll move out of our rental and into our new home Dec. or Jan.

More progress...last of the siding going on, starting to install the exterior doors and more rough plumbing (we're using PEX). Be heading over soon to take care of some items before the dry wall goes up and also to primer/paint the exterior.

Won't be too long before our builder completes his portion of the work and we move over to finish.

Metal is on the roof, cesspool is being completed...next up is insulation, dry wall and tape & texture. Went over to caulk, prime and paint a couple of weeks ago along with a few other tasks.

Jim,
I really like the color contrast you got between the walls, trim, and roofing. Looks great! One question: Where's the front door?[Big Grin]

We chose not to take up space with a formal entry area so there is a lockable french door in the foyer/alcove which enters into the kitchen/living area or guests can stumble in through one of the three sliders across the front of same.

The front guest room has it's own french door off the foyer/alcove plus a slider. We made it totally private from the rest of the house.
