Starting the Process in Ka'u
#1
Have been a long time reader of this forum and have learned much.

We're now starting the construction of our home in Discovery Harbour and have begun posting progress pictures at http://www.southpointhawaii.com/our_new_...harbou.htm.

Although I have built several homes, this time no more wall walking for me, we've contracted a builder to erect the shell (including all exterior doors and windows), dry wall, electrical, plumbing and then I'll take over to complete the cabinetry, hanging doors, appliances, flooring, trim, painting and on and on.

It ended up being a full custom design that started out, believe it or not, as the HPM Kamaole plan. I used some CAD software to redesign that plan ending up with something that doesn't remotely look like it anymore.

Great progress, thanks for sharing.

May I ask how high off the ground is the decking and the house?
