This is what I'm talking about right here.. I can get behind this kinda outta the box thinking. Yep smaller wheels, you mentally get there 45 min early.. there you go. Hell, this could possibly be the answer to global warming. Bravo Greg!
Seriously Hope, i feel bad here cuz I may have mislead you. I forgot all about the new cell phone laws turns out we're gonna have most of PUNAWEB pulled over on the right hand shoulder using their cell phones.
Soo we're gonna have to go to plan B. It's called the two bump procedure (Note: I don't think this is even addressed in the Hawaii driving manual, so it must be OK
Alls you need to do is ease up behind the mope (slow guy) in front of you and right when you're about to bump him put your car in neutral, this will make for a nice easy little bump. Now you only do this twice just enough to say "hey I'm running late here and I need to get passed you" Don't forget to put your car back in drive.. And always remember to give them a little wave after you pass them, just your way of saying hey thanks for sharing the road with others. I hope this helps..

Just another thought. Those minimum 40MPH signs are very confusing to first time visitors. More than likely where ever they live there aren't any minimum speed signs.
Case in point my first visit, loads of rain, hard to read signs, every minimum 40 MPH sign I saw I slowed down to 40MPH I thought they were speed LIMIT signs! Then I'd see the 50 MPH and speed up. Up and down and very weird and unfamiliar. Very dangerous also, but hey I didn't know and wasn't seeing the best either.

I wasn't going to reply again after the title changed, but since Dave is saying lighten up, just want to say, Hope, we have always interacted well and if I came down firm it was because with your first post you said ...

Daniel P that is a very interesting comment and reminds me of my move to a new community. It was in the early 80's and I moved from SF Metro to bucolic foothills of the Sierra Nevada range. Well it was slow as molasses traffic, even tho the traffic was miniscule.
It took me much longer than I care to admit to relax into it and face my 45 mile commute with a sense of enjoy the ride, enjoy the nature enjoy the double rainbows from end to end.

Great point - one that applies to many facets of living here.
Just because something is different here, don't assume it's broken or needs fixing. It likely works well, maybe even very well when you allow your attitude to adjust.

This thread was about a suggestion that using the right shoulder
(ONLY if someone in going 35 where 55 is posted
as an EXCEPTION and MORE SAFE WAY then left shoulder.
the right shoulder IS ALREADY OPEN 2 hours on weekdays.
I guess those who make it legal and
those who don't have to work or drive the same 2 hours to work can say that I sigh up for driving 1.5 hours (instead of 4o min.)because some scenic driver wants to go 35?
Following this logic after reading on PW about multiple crimes in HPP
the same people should say :
"You bought a house in HPP,you signed up for a burglary!"
