RE: tempest in a free speech tea cup? - Radiopeg - 12-16-2010 Tthe part that gets me is that this is an 18 year old, whose Dad is complaining. I can't believe she hasn't been living with worse. Maybe she didn't get "out" often? And they have no TV. I admit, I wouldn't watch Deadwood because of the language. I made a choice. I agree with Pam, the young woman should have just found a different instructor. Life goes on, with you or without you. RE: tempest in a free speech tea cup? - Carey - 12-16-2010 UHH lecturer's. Minimum Masters (for most of the programs, some do have equal. experiece), PHD preferred Pay start: $1263/credit hour.... to get to $80K, you would need to teach 60 credit hours per year....(for students, full time is 24-30 credits/year) If you are interested in the "big money" the employment link is: http://www.uhh.hawaii.edu/uhh/hr/job_display.php?job=530 RE: tempest in a free speech tea cup? - Dave Smith - 12-17-2010 So, at three credit hours for most classes (some labs are one credit), a lecturer would have to teach roughly 10 classes per semester, or a little less if summer courses are included, to reach $80k. That's at least twice what most lecturers do, is it not? |
