Good point Carrie. Like in Dylan's song,
"God is on our side," isn't claimed by only
one group. It works both ways - yes, I agree.
It's just that the Early Hawaiians didn't ask for the missionaries to come change their lives. And it sounds like instead of being stingy, perhaps these early Punatics of Nanawale just didn't like having someone else's religion forced on them. Then again, they could have just been a community with no aloha.
