As someone who knows Lorn Douglas and some of his experience with MKP, it is clear that Wao's personal issues have so clouded his judgement with respect to MKP that he is sinking into paranoid delusions. I'm dropping out of this discussion. It is going far beyond rational and into the depths of psychosis. Bye.

I would prefer it if people would spend more time and energy discussing issues and less time and energy discussing and dissing each other.

Yeah maybe they do care about their captives, er uh I mean participants.
It's much safer to beat a cooked chicken than a Raw one.
Still something smells fowl.

One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

In my opinion nothing like boy scouts for sure. these are men with some apparent lacking innerself pride if I may use the word. Better yet whinpy men, the kind you wont want to be around when the going gets tough. Thanks for the educational word out to those that are thankfully immune for a group such as this strange one. Hey maybe someone can benifit from it....poor soul if he needs it.
peace

Is 30 acres large enough for a cult?

RE: Another bad "organization"/cult here in Puna. - terry.way - 03-07-2011

Thank you, Rob. Hard to predict, indeed. That got me laughing.

Lorn is a real person. Cripes. The world would be a better place with more Lorns.

There are a lot of spiritual organizations out there. Some of them use Large-Group Awareness Training techniques. These techniques use specific pressures (like being in a large group, stage-fright, etc.) to get past the layers of ego built up in people's minds.

Can they help people achieve enlightenment? Yes.

Are they the sole path to enlightenment? No.

Can they take advantage of people? Yes. A clear sign this is happening: someone repeatedly signs up for more seminars, courses, forums.

Are they to blame when someone snaps or commits suicide? I would argue: No. MKP claims 43,000 men through their program as of 9/2010. The SUICIDE RATE PER YEAR for males in the US is 17 per 100,000. It shouldn't be hard to find more than one person linked with MKP that has committed suicide.

Hope you are well,
T.

i usually avoid posting on here, mostly because i'm not to willing let others attack or critize my views or opinions.

but this topic almost crosses over into religion. which like politics should have its own forum.

we are still part of the united states and we basically have to right to do pretty much want we want, unless it is illegal, (terrorism, drugs, tax evation, kidnapping etc.). if i understand correctly these men are paying to go these so it doesn't sound like they are being forced. has anyone checked to see what the suicide rate is among other organization/cults.

This link will take you to an organization in New Hampshire that effectively counteracts cult activity.
