RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Eric1600 - 11-21-2016 Wally Ishibashi, native Hawaiian and the senior advisor for the Office Of Mauna Kea Management, gave his testimony in favor of TMT. Here is a summary: quote: http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2016/11/19/video-tmt-case-testimony-of-wally-ishibashi/ http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2016/11/17/video-tmt-case-ishibashi-takes-witness-stand/ If you want to see the full testimony go to http://naleo.tv/VOD/ Select TMT Hearings, November 16 Part 1 and he starts around 150.0 RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Guest - 11-21-2016 Wally Ishibashi can also be seen here offering his testimony in front of other Hawaiians waving what looks to be money back at him in return for his PRO-TMT testimony. If you pay close attention around the 5:30 Mark of the video Wally also offers some of his heart, mind, and aloha spirit to the protectors who were trying to remind some like Mr Ishibashi that the important contested case hearings never took place before the permits were issued, heavy equipment hauled, and TMT ground breaking began. Jmo https://vimeo.com/125963862 Wally Ishibashi may have been in a "position" that provided ample time and opportunity for the mountain of Mauna Wa Kea and Hawaiian people to make sure this TMT project happened in the most Pono way, or not at all. Seems very odd and wrong now in 2016-17, to Have this culturally important time consuming contested case hearing with Wally's TMT testimony in front of a retired judge. Especially years after the billion dollar TMT permits were awarded by the states BLNR and enforced by their dogs, the DLNR. Who by the way were Arresting many Hawaiians for standing up and protecting Mauna Kea's past and future from foreign investors as well as their own diminishing rights, lands, resources, history and blood. jmo For having only 400 homes and something like 1,300 hundred Hawaiians residing within The community of Keaukaha, they do dominate and hold some important influential positions when reguarding this TMT project. For example, Hawaiian Cultural adviser for the mountain of Mauna Kea is Mr Ishibashi. Chair of the BLNR is Stanley Roerhig. President of the newly formed Pueo group is Mr Warfield, all from within that community. Their entire community may have been slowly poisoned over the years by Sewer, gas, airport and other nearby cancer causing companies. Their clean water, air and simple ways of life, taken forever and replaced with tourism favorites. The whole community of Keaukaha should probably be relocated when their billion dollar project is allowed on "their" Mountain. jmo RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Eric1600 - 11-21-2016 quote: Unfortunately this is just emotional nonsense. Perhaps it plays well with you. I suggest you watch his full testimony because they also try to use that same argument again. He also discusses his lineage and link to the mountain which you can not dismiss as some kind of "delusion" of Keaukaha Community. RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 11-21-2016 He also discusses his lineage and link to the mountain which you can not dismiss as some kind of "delusion" of Keaukaha Community. You might underestimate gypsy. “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - TomK - 11-21-2016 "Wally Ishibashi can also be seen here offering his testimony in front of other Hawaiians waving what looks to be money back at him in return for his PRO-TMT testimony." The protestors were waving their money around? Good for them. I wonder where they got it from. RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - kalakoa - 11-22-2016 I wonder where they got it from. Taxpayer-funded public "benefits" programs, most likely -- otherwise, where would they find time to "occupy" and "protest"? RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Guest - 11-22-2016 For those who only see the color's of money. TomK, Are you Wondering if they received their money from the same Cookie jar some of these folks make or take their's from? http://govcentral.monster.com/careers/articles/1250?page=1 From the outside looking in one might see thousands of "Hawaiian astronomers" trying their best to protect and utilize their own resources "Again". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ4Gt35hs-s RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - punaticbychoice - 11-22-2016 Maybe the "Protectors" should spend this winter at Standing Rock, North Dakota. Fighting a real rape and plunder, not science like TMT that would benefit us all. RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 11-22-2016 Are you Wondering if they received their money from the same Cookie jar some of these folks For all of the professions at the top of the list at your link, it may require up to 8 years of undergraduate and graduate studies before they can reach into your cookie jar. As you look down the list, the amount of study or training necessary is reduced, some jobs such as Border Agent for example, needing no college but a 58 day course where they are taught: Van/Utility Vehicle Operation Night Driving Vehicle Stops (low-risk and high-risk) https://www.cbp.gov/careers/join-cbp/which-cbp-career/border-patrol-agent/cbp-bp-academy It's a dangerous job to be sure, but it doesn't require the advanced math and physics classes an astronomer needs to study for working in his/her field of expertise. As with most jobs, the more you put in, the more you get out. Or should. “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen RE: TMT - Contested Case Hearing Status - Hilo - Guest - 11-22-2016 Punaticbychoice, real rape and plunder? Benefit us all? Some Protector's from the Island of Hawaii have been standing with many other water protector's in North Dakota for months. Just the other day One Hawaiian man was tear gassed, doused by water in freezing temperature before being shot in the leg with a rubber bullet that took his legs out from under him. These recent article's helps update the current situation in Standing Rock. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/11/21/police-citing-ongoing-riot-use-water-cannons-on-dakota-access-protesters-in-freezing-weather/ http://bsnorrell.blogspot.com/2016/11/standing-rock-water-protectors-under.html My heart and prayer's go out to all the water protector's taking a stand, including our many local protector's. Hopefully the TMT's project Rep's, financial backers and the state of Hawaii are watching the developments in Standing Rock and do everything possible to avoid a similar situation of unrest. jmo This article also shows some Standing Rock support from Hawaii Island Protector's. http://bigislandnow.com/2016/11/18/big-island-residents-stand-up-for-standing-rock/ Edited to add link. |
