Given Fergerstrom's opposition to the US and his claims that Hawaii is not governed by the US, rather is still the Kingdom of Hawaii, I think he should explain why, by his own admission, his sole source of income comes from social security.

Space telescopes taking pictures of earth telescopes.

As you scroll through the images look at the the number of domes, buildings, roads and other infrastructure in the photos, then when you get to the last shot of Mauna Kea, consider how restrained the construction there is compared to other sites around the world. Could it be less? Yes, if it was nothing. Could it be more? A lot more judging by the scale of construction required to support other astronomical observatories:

the scale of construction required to support other astronomical observatories

Almost as if the other locations lack infrastructure, and therefore require greater desecration, but of some other mountain which is not sacred to the neoHawaiians.

Mauna Kea's summit area is also an awesome place to watch sunrises. Should we be expecting entry limits and extra costs to visit Mauna kea's summit area in our near future?

http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/34406968/maui-park-limits-entry-for-sunrise-from-top-of-the-world

An average of 1,000 visitors a day watch the sunrise on the Haleakala summit, that is 365,000 a year. The 365,000 sunrise visitors a year is only 16% of the over 2 million visitors to the Haleakala summit.
The soon to be Millions of visitors a year to Mauna Kea's Summit may cause significant impacts and changes to an already sensitive or critical area. These possible impacts were Conveniently not mentioned or covered in the EIS report for the TMT project, WHY?.
Future entry limits and extra associated costs with visiting the summit of Mauna Kea may not be ways to encourage or promote Hawaiian culture, traditions and practices. Jmo.

From the article:

Nettie Kuwamura, a Native Hawaiian who was born and raised on Maui, considers herself a protector of the summit. ... For the past two years, Kuwamura has been driving tourists to the summit

Must be some sort of "alternative protection".

Must be some sort of "alternative protection".

If only Alternative Protector Stealth Shielding Technology were made available to the observatories. It could be a win-win solution.

I don't think millions of people will suddenly start heading to the summit to see.... another telescope.
We don't get that many tourists here, compared to Maui. Hence the need for diversification.
