Loud, low, headed NNE. Didn't get out in time to see what it(they) were. Most unusual.

RIMPAC is going on. There may be airplanes, helicopters, ships in the ocean, etc. for the next 30 days.

The more situations escalate around the globe, the higher intensity and frequency of military real world exercises. Hawaii being part of the United States is 99% for military/strategic reasons (just in case it wasn't obvious already).

I think RIMPAC should be cranking up things a notch, wonder if they will use the laser cannon equipped destroyer, wouldn't that be something

I was outside when the jet(s) flew by, but they were either in or above the low clouds.
Sounded like they were headed to Hilo airport.

Last time I was at Hilo Post Office, 3 customers were remarking about the "men with machine guns" they passed, on the way to the Post Office. I then looked out the window and saw a humvee right across the street.

Heard them over 15th too. not the normal chopper noise, so it got my attention as I was outside.

They just went by here (Laupahoehoe area).....my (usually-too-lazy-to-get-up dog) actually went to the door and looked up to see what all the noise was about.
