The more situations escalate around the globe, the higher intensity and frequency of military real world exercises. Hawaii being part of the United States is 99% for military/strategic reasons (just in case it wasn't obvious already).

I was outside when the jet(s) flew by, but they were either in or above the low clouds.
Sounded like they were headed to Hilo airport.

Last time I was at Hilo Post Office, 3 customers were remarking about the "men with machine guns" they passed, on the way to the Post Office. I then looked out the window and saw a humvee right across the street.

Heard them over 15th too. not the normal chopper noise, so it got my attention as I was outside.

They just went by here (Laupahoehoe area).....my (usually-too-lazy-to-get-up dog) actually went to the door and looked up to see what all the noise was about.
