Red and yellow chopper on HPP coast - PaulW - 02-22-2018

Going back and forth. Anyone know what's up?
Isn't that the rescue chopper?

Seeing quite a few emergency vehicles, doesn't look good...

Could be something to do with this. Missing person on the HPP coastline:

The story seems odd

Ah yes, I got that email too, didn't read it carefully enough.
People camping in this weather? I hope all is well.

MISSINGWatch: Naomi Glimane was camping with her family on the coast off Makuu Drive. She was last seen taking a walk along the shoreline at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and has not been seen since.

I walked along the coast Tuesday and the waves hitting the shoreline where bursting like depth charges exploding. Wednesday night was cloudy I believe, so very little light from the crescent moon would have shown on the black, rocky landscape. Hopefully she had a flashlight, hopefully she's OK.

Accident do happen, but I'm with seeb on this one.

She was found "in Keaau", safe and well.

There are certainly bits missing in the story. I'm glad the camper is safe, but how did she end up in Keaau? The link I gave in a previous post now says this:

"This alert has been deactivated and is no longer available."

So assume what Paul reported originally was connected to this missing and now found hiker.

It's quite a hike from your campsite on the HPP cliffs to Keaau, especially if you set off around 10 pm.
