Yet another coqui frog thread - PaulW - 10-05-2009 If you live in Hawaii and you can't hear coquis, please let me know. No reason, just wondering how far it's spread. Is Volcano still coqui-free? There are plenty here in lower HPP, up from almost none a few years ago, but the density doesn't seem to be increasing. RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - missydog1 - 10-06-2009 There are or were coquis at least near Volcano, because my son was working up in Mauna Loa Estates and heard them a couple years back. RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - Cali Hi - 10-06-2009 They aren't at south point... yet. Aloha, Jen California/Hawaii RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - dakine - 10-06-2009 There are NOT any coqui in Volcano, at least the ones that do make it up here are not here for long, 'cause the Coquistadors get 'em! RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - PaulW - 10-06-2009 Dakine, I'm glad to hear it, but after living in HPP I won't be able to believe it until I see/hear it for myself. Well done Coquistadors. RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - Devany - 10-06-2009 Why are there not more businesses to eliminate this noise pollution? Come on people... it is a recession! Be creative and make some money! No rain: No Plants: No Coqui! They like it wet and lush. quote: Aloha au i Hawai`i, devany www.myhawaiianhome.blogspot.com www.eastbaypotters.blogspot.com RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - mdd7000 - 10-06-2009 quote:I have looked into this. The problem is that too few people are willing to spend money right now. I have managed to eliminate the noisy critters from around the house and it sure is quieter but I cannot make much of a dent from the noise in the rainforest, 50 feet from the house. RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - maud gonne - 10-06-2009 Aww-ww. I couldn't go to sleep without my coqui symphony. I love 'em. And they're so cute. Okay, I'll bet this is going to bring the anti-coquiers out of the jungle... Bring it on. RE: Yet another coqui frog thread - PaulW - 10-06-2009 Nobody's ever been willing to spend money on it. It's easier and cheaper to say you can live with it. And even if someone would and could clear your lot for $100, it wouldn't be long till they were back. The only solution I can see is what they're doing in Volcano, a concerted effort to make a coqui-free "island". |
