If you live in Hawaii and you can't hear coquis, please let me know.
No reason, just wondering how far it's spread. Is Volcano still coqui-free?
There are plenty here in lower HPP, up from almost none a few years ago, but the density doesn't seem to be increasing.
There are or were coquis at least near Volcano, because my son was working up in Mauna Loa Estates and heard them a couple years back.

There are NOT any coqui in Volcano, at least the ones that do make it up here are not here for long, 'cause the Coquistadors get 'em!

Dakine, I'm glad to hear it, but after living in HPP I won't be able to believe it until I see/hear it for myself. Well done Coquistadors.

Why are there not more businesses to eliminate this noise pollution? Come on people... it is a recession! Be creative and make some money!

Jen, that is because it is an arid and vegetation starved place. No rain: No Plants: No Coqui! They like it wet and lush.

I have looked into this. The problem is that too few people are willing to spend money right now. I have managed to eliminate the noisy critters from around the house and it sure is quieter but I cannot make much of a dent from the noise in the rainforest, 50 feet from the house.

Aww-ww. I couldn't go to sleep without my coqui symphony. I love 'em. And they're so cute.
Okay, I'll bet this is going to bring the anti-coquiers out of the jungle... Bring it on.

Nobody's ever been willing to spend money on it. It's easier and cheaper to say you can live with it. And even if someone would and could clear your lot for $100, it wouldn't be long till they were back. The only solution I can see is what they're doing in Volcano, a concerted effort to make a coqui-free "island".
