UK Mauna Kea observatories under threat

Nana - one of the aims is for a new operator to take on the current UKIRT staff and I think both competing groups are aware it would be daft to start from scratch without using all the operational knowledge the current staff have, but of course the final proposals haven't been submitted yet.
