There are two meetings on the Hawai'i County Energy Sustainability Plan recomendations this week. Monday (tonight) at UH-Hilo in the Campus Center rm 301 & Wednesday at the Ola'a Community Center at the Kea'au Middle School (makai side of old Keaau-Pahoa Rd, near intersection of Old Volcano). Both meetings start at 7:00pm -8:30pm.
Meetings are to find out more about the challenges this island faces to make island more energy efficient & provide feedback.

Thanks for the link, Carey. Wish I could be there. One thing that struck me recently was an article in the HNL Advertiser about the loss of dairies in Hawai'i. Most milk is now "imported". That's a cryin' shame. The energy it takes to import all that milk is wasted when it could be produced here. We are afraid of price supports though. If you go, I would be very interest to see if there is any discussion about the decline in locally produced milk.
