In an effort to preserve U.S. climate data...
#1
Recently the Washington Post published an article entitled:

"Scientists are frantically copying U.S. climate data, fearing it might vanish under Trump"

In which it starts out by saying:

"Alarmed that decades of crucial climate measurements could vanish under a hostile Trump administration, scientists have begun a feverish attempt to copy reams of government data onto independent servers in hopes of safeguarding it from any political interference."

The entire article can be read here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/ener...der-trump/

Seeing that it is an ongoing, extremely time sensitive, and critically important project I felt if there is even the slightest possibility that someone among all the punaweb community might be aware of a dataset that should be included it warrants a mention here.

The actual database of datasets is at:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...edit#gid=0

Yes I am aware of the Puna centric policy of these boards, and yes I think that global climate change and our government's response to it is extremely important to many here, especially those that have a vested interest along the coast in the Kapoho area. But hey, if the moderator thinks otherwise he can delete or rock up this thread.

What can a person really do? Spend a few of your dollars to an organization who is supposed to take care of the world, and then spends your money in advertisements to get more money?
Go down on Fridays to stand in front of the U.S. Post office with signs against Donnie Trump?
The earth is going thru some changes. Is it because of mankind or the sun going thru its normal eons of changes?
Do what you think is best.... that is all a person can do.
