The earthquakes are probably connected to Mauna Loa, not Hualalai, it seems like. There was a 2.3 at the summit of Mauna Loa at 4:34pm, then a 5.2 in the vicinity of Pu'u Wa'a Wa'a, then there was 3 makai of Puuanahulu. If you look at the USGS map, its straight line where these earthquakes occurred.
