Bite Helper - Bug Bite Neutralizer
#1
Has anyone heard of this device?  I’m not bothered by the effects of mosquito bites much, but I read through the questions on Amazon and someone asked about it’s affect on fire ants.  Part of the reply:

BITE HELPER utilizes Thermo-Pulse-Technology™ that delivers heat and vibration to the affected area increasing circulation and localized blood flow. Most venom, bacteria and pathogens are thermolabile and get destroyed by heat.
Amazon - Bite Helper

I have to place an Amazon order soon so may try one, but would be interested in whether any one on Punaweb says yay or nay.  It’s $29.95, so it wouldn’t break the bank, but lord knows there’s plenty of other things on which I could spend 30 bucks.

I find the claim of working on toxic injections from insect stings very questionable.
That leads to all their claims being questionable.

But, go ahead buy one.
Even if no one finds them useful enough to get a second one, at $30 apiece, they'll still make a bundle in the next few weeks or months before they fold up their tent and move on.

I use this device, which appears to be very similar:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ8F735/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=cd023-20&linkId=c79a216672720e3e04a775d5331e03fe&language=en_US

I get bad reactions to mosquito bites. Not just itchy but big welts. The device definitely works, but only if I repeat the treatment several times to the point of getting a mild burn which for me is preferable to the bite. I find the claims dubious that the heat is breaking down the venom proteins, perhaps getting a mild burn just interferes with the histamine reaction.

I've also tried it on fire ant stings. It doesn't make them better or worse. A friend tried it on a bee sting and reported same result.

For further reading, this other device claims to be FDA "cleared" and has a scientific study behind it. More expensive, however made in Germany:

Thanks terracore,
The Bite Away info sounds like it’s effective for fire ants.  Bite Helper dances around the subject, saying it neutralizes the venom, but never comes right out and states it relieves the pain.   Bite Away says unequivocally that it works on fire ants - - so looks like a better bet.
Thanks
