Thought we had hail in OLE, went outside and they were just huge rain drops. I think it remelted before it hit the ground. Just after that, wife's friend sent her video of Pahoa hail.
Some crazy dark clouds surrounding now. Waterspout / tornado weather. Have had thunder here last several hours today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Pea sized hail possible in Volcano NOW
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT ISSUED: 2:59 PM FEB. 9, 2021 – NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER WINDWARD PORTIONS OF MAUNA LOA SLOPES... At 256 PM HST, a strong thunderstorm was located 3 miles northwest of Wood Valley, or 36 miles southeast of Kailua-Kona. Another strong thunderstorm was near Volcano. The storms are moving slowly.
