How dare you make fun of The Simpsons! Chief Wiggum would be an improvement!

Haha!  Love it randomq!

Imagine you're zipping along 31st Ave, putting the final touches on your makeup and feeling self-satisfied about the 13 minutes you're going to save at the expense of the homeowners. Suddenly you see Cheif Wiggum with circular pastry in hand, manning a road block designed just to thwart your plan...

I think HPP could easily get the traffic cut-thru folks reduced drastically by placing random barricades in the middle of some of the cross streets, every morning, forcing the folks to turn around and go back the other way. After a few weeks of use, the cut-thru folks will give up on attempting it.

As a non-HPP resident, can I suggest that Google route more cars through HPP to free up 130?

Too funny.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and submit that, IMHO, not too many of our neighbors in Lower Puna actually utilize google to get to Hilo and back.   Might work on tourists though.  They would be ripe for taxation at the roadblocks!  Big Grin

I really wish this would happen, and not just in HPP. It might force the issue. The whole "privately owned/but open to the public" paradigm is complete BS, and I'm pretty sure it's by design.
