Couldn't agree more.
Life definitely better for all us PUNA Webbers only a few short years ago.

Benefits for every day Puna residents from scientists at UHH:

Three student pharmacists at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy are conducting research with an extract from a locally grown plant as a tool to combat antimicrobial resistance, which in recent years has become a global threat to public health.

Our research results showed the synthesized silver nanoparticles using the (poha berry) extract demonstrated good antibacterial activity against Gram-negative E. coli and one of the Gram-positive Methicillin-sensitive S. aureus bacteria strains that we tested, both which exist here in Hawaii.

It is possible for students in Puna to graduate from high school, get a year at UH Community College for free (https://bigislandnow.com/2023/05/11/hawa...-for-free/ ) if their family is short on financial resources, apply for additional scholarships if they study and do well, transfer to UHH, then attend graduate level classes if that's their interest - -

ALL IN EAST HAWAII

And if their research is successful they could benefit Puna, East Hawaii, the US, and potentially the entire world.

And poha berries (the source of the nanoparticles) can be grown in Hawaii.
By farmers living in Hawaii.
