HELCO stock down nearly 40%
#11
AaronM - Hellco going bankrupt and being replaced by another company sounds great to me.

If found liable and the damages are high enough and the PG&E model is followed, a likely outcome is a bankruptcy and settlement, with the payout structured into the debt/valuation of the "new" company, which can then go back to creating more fatal wildfires. Financialization and imaginary restructurings can't be beat for kicking cans down the road.

AaronM  - Independence is an excellent option as suggested above.

It's not even like total "independence" is necessary, just reduce your contribution to the problem? You're already going to be paying more so why not pay to do less harm as well? Part of that whole interest in what can be done to actually make a difference going forward.

What would "reducing my contribution to the problem" look like?

Stock is at 10 to 11 bucks today.

Wall Street reports that HE is in discussions with restructuring.

I’m sure there will be some “golden parachutes” being deployed soon.
