To commemorate Pahoa's centennial year, Jeff Hunt Surfboards and LuQuin's Mexican Restaurant present the Pahoa Surf Film Festival at the Akebono Theater on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009. Event to include a special tribute to Kalapana. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Tickets on sale in July. Proceeds will go to the Mainstreet Pahoa Association.
