Live Streaming of Council Meetings
#1
I think there is no reason why the council meetings can't be streamed on the internet.

The process that it takes to take the footage to DVD requires it to be digitized anyways. It's just an extra step to upload it to a site.

It could then be watched anytime, anywhere and by anybody.

Let's take a look at Honolulu's April Meeting. Get bored of watching where you're at... slide the bar to where you want to go to.

REGULAR CITY COUNCIL Meeting April 22, 2009

I don't see any closed captioning and it certainly isn't "ADA Compliant" as Kenneth Goodenow seems to insist they need to be.

I'm actually really getting on the wrong folks.

The people at Na Leo should be using the funds that they are getting to stay on top of things.

However, the way things seem to be working, is our tax money is going to a private company to only get these meetings on the air.

Na Leo already receives a good chunk of money each year from Time Warner specifically earmarked for PEG programming.
I think Na Leo should get with the times as well.
