PAHOA DISTRICT PARK OPEN FORUM
When: Tuesday Sept. 21 6-8 pm
Where: Pahoa Community Center
Pahoa Weed and Seed will be hosting an Open Public Forum to discuss the development of the 56 acres of land adjacent to the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility and Aquatic Center.
The main focus for this event is to share the different development options that have been proposed, and to get public input on those proposed ideas.
When the County first acquired the property, there were public meetings that resulted in a prioritized ‘wish list’, but that was many years ago and the community may want to re-visit those ideas, which were discussed prior to the Puna Community Development Plan.
There have also been more recent proposals that the community has not had the opportunity to review or comment on. The land was acquired by a state $150,000 grant to Mainstreet Pahoa Association and then paid to the Honolulu Diocese of the Catholic Church for a district park purpose.
