HPP Special Board of Directors Meeting
#11
It seems from afar that so many of the associations in Puna are associations in name only, and are responsible for roads only or roads and a smattering of other things (I know there are excetions). Participation is low as are the rewards of serving on a board where you may be confronted with crazy cat ladies or worse.

The laws governing such associations did not develop in a coherent way, nor did the associations themselves. Volunteerism seems to be the new method of governance.

Thanks, Scott, for posting the date change. I would only add that some agenda items have been added in the interest of process tranparency and disclosure that I support. To view the agenda, go to www.hppoa.com and look on the menu for "Agenda."

I got the revised agenda via an email list, and didn't know it would be posted later. HPP property owners who wish to be added to the list should write to associate1@hppoa.com and ask to be added.

Why is this no a priority?

where are you talking about on Beach Road?
I own some land there and have permission from Shipman managers to take my truck onto Shipman property to haul out rubbish and dumped tv, old car parts etc. I have actually been called to come out when someone was dumping. I got their license plate number and reported them to Shipman offices and to police. Hopefully they got ticketed.
I try to do the clean-up hauling out once a week. Please let me know the location and I will absolutely pick up the rubbish there also.

I reside in Orchidland, but love the Shipman property. Been going there since I was a kid and we cam over to visit from Ohau on vacations. Someday I will build on Beach Road property, but for now I just enjoy hanging there.

Do what you can... and be happy.

Aloha,
Yes, Paradise and Beach..the first left turn to park close to the cliff. After, coming across these items, I refuse to walk in that area. For some reason, this island refuses to install restrooms to accommodate island residents and our visitors. I understand, that there is a lot of vandalism, but we need to come up with a solution. They are renovating "Reeds Bay" but without restrooms, because of the cost.$333,000..how do they came up with that figure, is totally crazy. You can build a 2400 sq.ft home for that.
