Today you have to hope someone gives their's up and you happen to call at the right time.

You can also buy a house that has DSL and put it in the contract that the phone number comes as part of the deal.

...and the fact that some Realtors™ are experts at transitioning broadband as part of the sales contract is somehow not seen as a "problem".
