Lately I'm wondering just how many studies are under way -- these are the ones I've seen mentioned recently:
- Kona spaceport certification (8 EIRs and counting)
- high-tech manufacturing to support telescopes ($100K)
- grid management alternatives ($1.5M, despite the pending NextEra merger)
- hemp production ($425K)
- alternatives to styrofoam food containers
- drug decriminalization
- tsuami risk (5 years)
The "grid management" study is interesting -- PUC has already indicated that they "might or might not" rule on the NextEra merger by June -- either that decision has already been made, or the study is a scam, or both.
