Land Contract filing... "contract for deed"
#1
aloha,

Got a question we sold our home on a land contract rather "contract for deed". I have sold a home on contract on the mainland and there is only one department at the Bureau to file the contract with.

On the island there is Land Court and the Regular system.

Does a "Contract for Deed" have to be filled with BOTH (Land and regular) or just one? There are no other mortgages on the home we are the clear owners selling.

Thanks ahead of time..

Any documents pertaining to a property will be filed in whatever "system" the property is in: Regular, Land or, on occasion, Double-System.

You can tell what system a property in by looking at any previously filed document. The Bureau of Conveyance stamps indicate the system.
