Advice on Kwai fah cuttings

Cleaning out a long neglected corner of my yard, I found a Kwai fah ( Osmanthus fragrans ) plant that I had forgotten I had planted years ago. It's very tall and straggly, and will need pruning. I found several sources online that let me know how to revive it, but nothing on how to root the cuttings that I'll have after pruning. Does anyone have experience or advice on what's the best way to get them going ? Thanks in advance.

I have had zero luck in starting cuttings. But it doesn't hurt to try leaving a tip in a jar of water to see if it sprouts roots or simply sticking a cutting (maybe apply a little root toner) in potting soil. Other ideas are airlayer or you could search for a little shoot coming out of the ground with sufficent roots and dig it out.
