parks and rec FEMA funds budget
#11
Look at how they claim the funds are to be spent. Parks, ball fields (ostensibly in Puna), the golf course (not in Puna). Are any of these actual "eruption recovery"?

Yes. They justified the hilo golf course work by saying that 30% of the golfers are from Puna. I expect it from the county; less so from people living in Puna.

Also an Aquatic Center with Sailing, Windsurfing, Kiteboarding + Paddling lessons and rentals. Wakeboarding in the tiny area its allowed still.

Along with Carne Asada, these are things we can use more of from Cali Ana.

I was just hoping for some kind of beach park at the new lighthouse beach.

Why can't the money be spent for a replacement instead of spending it on equipment to maintain a park we don't have ?

Agreed...everytime we drive past the former 4 corners the topic of replacing the road to the lighthouse and completing the connection to Pohoiki comes up.
