Djou Looking for Abercrombie's Spot in 2010
#1
I heard on KGMB that Charles Djou is going to be running for Abercrombies spot in Congress in 2010.

I like the kid and think he would be good in Congress.

of course he doesn't stand a chance unless Abercrombie decides to move up to the Senate due to some retirement. Djou supported Ann Kobayashi's challenge to Mufi and is Hanneman's arch nemesis in the city council. look for more speedtraps on Oahu so Mufi can finance his pipedreams. I said I never going vote for him again after I got railroaded into my speeding ticket. Unfortunately not enough to derail those steel wheels!

The other question is if Hanneman going run for governor- who's going stop him??

Brian Schatz [Wink]

If Schatz ran... I think he could give Moof a run.

troublemaker indeed... in a good way. charles djou is the first to call other politicians on their b*. everything that i've ever heard him say has been extremely practical. it seems futile to run against abercrombie though.

It's possible Abercrombie might vacate Congress to vie for higher office- but maybe I'm just dreaming. I recall 15-20 years ago when Senator Akaka moved up to the Senate from Congress Abercrombie and Mufi fought for the open House seat in the Dem primary. Hanneman won a close race throwing out a last minute charge that Neil used to smoke dope back in the 1960's. So if Abercrombie bears a long memory to enter the governor's race just to stop Hanneman then Djou might have a chance.

Though Abercrombie seems to have changed from when he first started out in local politics 35 years ago. Now he seems beholden to Senator Inouye and might seek Inouye's blessing for higher office which is a good way to get elected in Hawaii!

I'm kind of shocked about the following:

Honolulu City Council member Charles K. Djou cut his three top legislative advisers, including his Chief of Staff and an aide who worked for him since 1998...

Speaking of Mufi. Did you know he ran for office(Mayor?)here in Hawaii county about 15(or so)years ago? He worked for C Brewer and was Doc Buyers boy. When he lost, he packed his bags and moved on to Oahu, which to me said alot about his "commitment".
