Property Deeds - How long?
#1
We purchased our lot in Oct 2009. My husband has called the Bureau of Conveyance twice since then most recently this evening as we haven't received the deed. We are receiving the tax bills and we show as owners on the Hawaii Co. tax site.

Tonight they told him they were still backed up to 2009. They also said they were retyping the deed and sending it back to the title company. He didn't ask why. Men, wtf, why not ask "why"?

Does it sound like we have a major problem on our hands or are we experiencing "aloha time"?

Thanks, Susan

I don't think so. They are not "re-typing" the deed, that's BS! They either accept it from the escrow company and record it, or they reject it and send it back. It seems you already are the recorded owners, so it was accepted, but you should also have a copy of the deed that the escrow company sent for recordation.

Thanks John. I need to pull my documents. Maybe our expectations aren't correct.

Thanks Kathy. Yes, we are paying the taxes! Never thought getting a tax bill in the mail would make me smile.
