Aloha,
I have been to the Big Island Pet Care Center and Dr. Grune trimmed my birds nails and wings. But it cost me a fortune. I am looking for someone that is very familiar in trimming the wings and nails at a reasonable rate. Maybe someone can teach me as well. Any Info is appreciated.

It really would be good if we formed a Big Island Bird Club, with monthly meetings, information exchange, and special interest groups like the Alaska Bird Club (

I would be very interested, cannot talk for others though. I believe sharing information and getting education out there is a plus regarding adopting, owning and taking care of our beautiful feathered friends. And sharing our individual stories of our own experiences and how birds touch our lives.

I was a bird keeper at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park for 10 years plus had my own collection of 300 plus birds at home for 25 yrs. I'm familiar with wing and toenail clipping if any of you want assistance. I can either do it for you or show you how.I can be reached at andymaycen@me.com
